Surf & Swim Inaugural Fundraiser - 2026

Surf & Swim Preview Raises $5,200 for Garland's S.T.A.R.S. Camp

In May 2026, the Garland Parks Foundation partnered with the City of Garland Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department to host an exclusive community preview of the spectacular new Surf & Swim at Holford Recreation Center before its official public opening.

The event gave hundreds of residents the opportunity to experience one of Garland's most exciting parks investments while supporting an important local cause. Through admission tickets, sponsorships, raffles, and generous community support, the event raised $5,200 for the City of Garland's S.T.A.R.S. (Specialized Therapeutic and Recreational Services) program.

The proceeds will help expand recreational opportunities for children and individuals with special needs, allowing more families to participate in life-changing programs offered through Garland Parks and Recreation.

Several months later, Foundation volunteers, City leaders, Parks Department staff, and participants gathered at Bradfield Recreation Center for a ceremonial check presentation celebrating the success of the fundraiser and the partnerships that made it possible.

The Garland Parks Foundation is grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, or helped spread the word. Together, we demonstrated how community partnerships can strengthen Garland's parks while improving the lives of our neighbors.

This event perfectly reflects the Foundation's mission of supporting Garland's parks through community involvement, philanthropy, and stewardship.

Holford Aquatics Event -2025

2025 we celebrated Garland’s Newest Aquatics Facility

The Garland Parks Foundation was thrilled to host an exclusive soft opening of the Holford Recreation Center Aquatics Facility on May 17th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The weather was perfect and we were able to showcase what everyone has been anticipating. In addition, the event was a new beginning of partnerships between non profits. Proceeds from the soft opening event helped The Buddy League make needed improvements to their baseball field. $1200 was raised for the cause and every dollar was delivered.

Our projects are long term and funded through donations. We focus on large scale installations, park improvements, and funding for Parks Department projects. Our goal is to create a wow factor that increases park attendance and community esteem.

We encourage people to make memories in our parks.
